Xumeng Zhang received his bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and his master’s degree in Statistics from the University of Washington. With rigorous training in both statistical theory and computational methods, his previous and current research projects focus on foundation-model-style sequence-to-function approaches, with a particular emphasis on modeling chromatin structure. As a PhD student in Biomedical and Health Informatics, Xumeng aims to explore large-scale computational methods on omics data to discover novel biological insights and to ultimately help accelerate drug discovery.
